DECK DRAWINGS
Order a Deck Drawings Set for $80 Upfront
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Professionally drafted structural drawings for your residential deck project.
Turn your deck sketch into a clear drawing set for permit submission, contractor coordination, and construction planning. Our Deck Drawings package includes a dimensioned floor plan, structural framing plan, elevations, and relevant construction details tailored to your proposed project.
We prepare drawings using the American Wood Council’s prescriptive residential wood deck construction guidelines where applicable, together with the requirements of your local building department. Where your county publishes its own deck construction guidelines, we incorporate those requirements into the drawing set.
Whether you are planning a new deck, replacing an existing one, or modifying its layout, we use your measurements, photographs, and project information to show the proposed work clearly.
What’s included

Deck floor plan: Overall shape, dimensions, connection to the house, stairs, landings, and relevant doors or access points.

What to provide
You do not need a professionally prepared drawing to get started. A clear hand-drawn sketch with measurements, supported by photographs, is usually enough to begin.
Please provide:
-
Deck sketch: Show the proposed shape, the house wall, and dimensions for each section.
-
Deck height: Measure from the ground to the proposed finished deck surface. For sloping ground, provide heights at the relevant corners.
-
Stairs and landings: Show their intended location, width, direction, and any intermediate landings.
-
House connection: Identify where the deck will attach to the house, or tell us if it will be freestanding.
-
Photographs: Include the house wall, proposed deck area, ground conditions, and any existing deck.
-
Material preferences: Tell us your preferred decking, framing, and railing materials, if already selected.
-
Existing structural information: For resurfacing, repairs, or extensions, provide available joist, beam, post, and footing dimensions, along with clear photographs.
-
Permit requirements: Upload any county deck guide, application checklist, existing drawings, or review comments you have received.
If you are unsure about a measurement or structural detail, mark it as unknown rather than guessing.

A simple sketch is enough to get started. Label the house, deck dimensions, height above ground, and proposed stairs. Add notes or photographs for anything that needs further explanation.
Optional site plan
Add a Standard Site Plan if your application requires the deck’s location on the property to be shown. This separate drawing identifies the existing house, proposed deck, property boundaries, and relevant distances to property lines.
Select the site-plan add-on in the order form and upload any available survey or plot plan.
Review and revisions
You will receive a first draft to review and verify the dimensions, layout, and project details. Email your comments or send marked-up drawings, and we will make corrections and adjustments within the original project scope at no additional charge.
If your building department requests revisions, send us the complete review comments so we can assess and address the items relating to our drawing scope.
